Special Event: Karen Dawn Public Talk and Potluck Dinner
When: Saturday October 9th, From 5pm - $4 entry
Where: Garden Room, Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Rd
Karen Dawn is the author of the acclaimed "Thanking the Monkey: Rethinking the Way We Treat Animals". She will entertain and inform, sharing anecdotes and cartoons from the book, and talking about ways to engage other people with the issues you're really passionate about.
She's in demand as a speaker at animal rights conferences throughout the US, and is in NZ to speak at the SPCA's conference. She runs the animal-info news service Dawn Watch, and she will sign copies of her book at the event.
Please join us for a vegan potluck dinner beforehand!
Doors open at 5pm, meal starts at 6pm.
If you're arriving before 7.30, please bring a vegan dish to share. You'll also need to bring your own crockery and cutlery and (non-alcoholic) drink.
Let's pull out the culinary stops and make this a dinner to remember!
If you're not sure what to bring, ask for guidance!
This event is being organised by The Vegan Society, Animal Freedom Aotearoa, SAFE and Angel Food.
