Kitten Saved from Huntly Road Side
August 2010
On a stormy Saturday night at the end of August 2010 a white and ginger kitten was rescued off the side of the road in Huntly. He was taken to the emergency vets on Carrington road and was discovered to have a broken back, was under weight, had fleas and bite marks on his back from other cats. It was believed that he was run over while crossing the State Highway One in Huntly. AFA is committed to helping him recover from this terrifying ordeal and insure he lives the rest of his life in a safe and comfortable environment.
One of our members had this to say of the experience "It just seemed so fortuitous that we were driving past at that particular time & so wonderful that we turn the car around & check to see what the huddled shape against the barrier was. It's always a moving experience helping a creature that is in such desperate need of help. The thought of his loud purring once he'd been given that help makes me feel quite emotional. I really hope he makes a good recovery. He must have felt so frightened & alone out there on the road."
For updates on how he is doing check out these blog posts:

- Rochelle
How YOU Can Help Him:
Donations Needed to Help Kitten Recover
The first vet bill has come in at $1004.25. Have paid this with money we borrowed but that we must pay back. We have also been told to expect a bill for a further $2000 at the end of the week for his on going care in the specialist animal hospital. Our most recent blog post talks about his care and the costs in greater detail if you would like to have a look.
If you can make a donation towards his vet bills and recovery please put it into our bank account.
