Meet Colin - the south auckland scrapper
December 2010
We would like to introduce you to Colin. Earlier this week friends of AFA trapped this stray tom cat who was hanging around their South Auckland home. Our friends are already weighed down with their own cat, a new human baby and a mother and four kittens who were also stray so AFA have taken Colin under our wing.
As you can see from the state of his nose he has seen his seen his fair share of fights. Surprisingly though he is fairly good with humans and in fact is proving to be quite a lovely boy. At first he would hiss when people went into his cage but within a couple of days we have been able to pat him and give him scratches behind his ears :)
He is super keen on meal time as you can imagine after life of the streets and seems in ok health though he may need to have his teeth cleaned and some possibly removed.
The plan from now is to get him to the vet next week to be wormed, de-fleaed, de-sexed and have a check up. After that we will work on socializing him. Then we need to find him a home. If you are interested please email us on rescue@animalfreedom.org.nz
