NATIONAL
EVENT: Action for Animals Summer Camp
When: January 28th - 31st 2011
Where: Foxton Beach
This camp aims to offer those interested in animal rights, as well as those already involved, new skills and knowledge so that they can better advocate for animals, organise and participate in actions against animal abuse, carry out investigations into animal abuse industries and handle and rehome animals in need.

ACTION: Stop The Summit Campagin is Stepping Up
CAWDS have released to details of some of the planned actions during the Summit.
Monday 8th Nov: 8am - 10.30am outside Skycity
Tuesday 9th Nov: 8am - 9am outside Skycity
Wednesday 10th Nov: 8am - 9am outside Skycity
Thursday 11th Nov: 8am - 9am outside Skycity
More actions will be released closed to the time so stay tuned to www.cawds.org.nz
CAWDS are calling for an international week of actions against Fonterra and the international dairy industry from November 8th to November 14th.

STALL: We did a Couple of Stalls this Weekend
This weekend we held a couple of stalls; one at The Mark of Man show in Henderson and one on K'Rd on Saturday. Hi to all the new people who joined our mailing list. Hope to see you around :)

EVENT: Suppa Club Has Moved
When: Tuesday the 28th of September from 7pm
Where: Wise Cicada, 23 Crowhurst St, New Market
We thought we would mix it up abit and try our monthly Suppa Club at Wise Cicada. Come join us for a yummy vegan dinner.
EVENT: Farm Animal Day Battery Hen Farm Tour
When: Wednesday 29th September from 7pm
Where: Cityside, 8 Mt Eden Road, Auckland CBD
Celebrate world farm animal day this weekend by challenging yourself to question where your eggs come from and confront the reality head on.
Over the weekend we will be holding a visit to an Auckland battery hen farm so that you can see first hand the horror in which millions are hens are kept to produce eggs.
We will first hold a workshop at Cityside (8 Mt Eden Road) on Wednesday this week to explain about the egg industry and discuss how the farm tour will work. If you would like to come on the tour this workshop is a must.

EVENT: Public Forum - Whats Wrong with the New Zealand Dairy Industry?
When: Wednesday, October 6 · 6:30pm - 10:30pm
Where: Te Karanga Gallery, 206 K Road
CAWDS invite you to a public education night with films and guest speakers that will cover some of the reasons why the intensive, corporate dairy industry is so destructive, and why it is important we target the World Dairy Summit. We will also be sharing ways you can get involved and answering questions. This will be a great event to learn more and then take action!
EVENT: Karen Dawn Public Talk and Pot Luck Dinner
When: Saturday October 9th, From 5pm - $4 entry
Where: Garden Room, Grey Lynn Community Centre, 510 Richmond Rd
Karen Dawn is the author of the acclaimed "Thanking the Monkey: Rethinking the Way We Treat Animals". She will entertain and inform, sharing anecdotes and cartoons from the book, and talking about ways to engage other people with the issues you're really passionate about. More . . .
EVENT: AFA Stall - Vegetarian Food and Lifestyle Festival
When: Sunday, October 10 · 10:00am - 4:30pm
Where: ASB Showgrounds Hall 6, Greenlane Road, Auckland
AFA are holding an educational stall at the Vegetarian Societies Vegetarian Food and Lifestyle Festival on October. If anyone wants to help out please email us on auckland@animalfreedom.org.nz and if you are attending the festival come and see us :)

EVENT: AR Lounge - MINE
When: Wednesday 13th October from 7pm
Where: Cityside, 8 Mt Eden Road, Auckland CBD
After the earthquake in Christchurch we have been thinking alot about how we deal with our companion animals in disasters and that we MUST make sure that we have a plan for how to keep our animal friends safe.
Mine is a feature length documentary about this very topic. Mine is about the efforts to rescue cats and dogs following Hurricane Katrina. If you share your home and your heart with a cat or dog this film is a must see.
